The Arts by Animal program is part of the ?animal enrichment' process of creating an environment to address an animal's social, psychological and physical needs. Creating art is safe for the animals; the paints are non-toxic and washable. Some animals use a paint brush while others chose to paint with their paws, claws, tails and scales. Artist animals at AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums have included chimpanzees, frogs, kangaroos, ocelots, elephants, red pandas, rhinoceros, Komodo dragons and more.
