Auction Mishaps: In 1958, during a cold day in Montana, he conducted a livestock auction. The bull that was up for auction went through the sale block where he was standing and knocked him over and took out the sound system. He conducted the rest of the auction without the sound equipment.
Family: Wife, Florence "Babe." Married for 60 years. Six children, 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
